If your guarantor is a private individual, they may be a member of your family, a friend or a third party who declares their income in France and who has a tax return issued by the French tax authority.
If your guarantor is a legal person (an organisation with a legal identity), it may be a company, a bank or a non-profit organisation that can act as guarantor. The role of a corporate guarantor is the same as that of a private individual: if you do not make your payments, they will pay any rent, expenses and other sums owed by you, the student.
